Born in Cartwright, this centreman played junior on the 1941 Memorial Cup champion Winnipeg Rangers. An out standing amateur player, he won 2 Allan Cups with Quebec Aces and another with Ottawa Senators. He also played for and coached Winnipeg Maroons and coached the Winnipeg Warriors in 1960-61. He coached the University of Manitoba from 1957 to 1970; this team won the 1965 Canadian collegiate championship. He was also with the Winnipeg Jets' organization from 1972 to 1984.
