Wally Stanowski played junior with the 1938 Memorial Cup champion St. Boniface Seals. He then played with Toronto Maple Leafs in 1939, finishing second in voting for the Calder Cup that season. He played with the Leafs when they won the Stanley Cup in 1942 after which he joined the Canadian Armed Forces in World War II. He returned in time to be part of another Toronto Stanley Cup championship team in 1945. He would play on two more Stanley Cup winners with the Leafs in 1947 and 1948. He finished his career with the Rangers. In 10 NHL seasons Wally Stanowski played 428 games, scored 23 goals, 88 assists, for 111 points.
