Date of Birth: 1961-02-04Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Steve played all his minor hockey in St. James as a right winger. In the 1976-77 season at the age of 15 he played in the MJHL with St. James Canadians and recorded 35 points in 50 games. He joined the WHL champion Brandon Wheat Kings in 1978-79 for their Memorial run that fell short in the final losing 2-1 in O/T. Drafted in 1980 by Buffalo in the first round, Steve was called up the following season by the Sabres and went on to play five years before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1984-85. The previous year he had lined up with Rochester Americans who were AHL finalists. He finished his NHL career in 1986 with Quebec with a total of 40 goals and 68 assists in 250 games.
