Born in St. Lupicin, Manitoba, this centreman played his minor hockey in Winnipeg. He played in the MJHL with the St. Boniface Canadiens. In 1956 and 1957 he was an MJHL First Team All-Star, won the scoring title both of those years and was the first player in league history to record 100 points in a season. Ray Brunel was a member of the 1964 Cleveland Barons, AHL Calder Cup Champions. He played 842 professional games with 272 goals, 420 assists for 692 career points.
