Born in Glascow, Scotland, this goaltender won a Provincial Junior championship in 1925 with the University of Manitoba and was with the Winnipegs in 1927 and with Elmwood in 1930, both of whom were Manitoba Senior champions. Jimmy Foster captained the 1933 and 1934 Allan Cup champions, the Moncton Hawks. He also played for the 1936 Olympic champions from England and played five seasons in the English League.
