Born in Flin Flon, this defenceman played both juvenile and junior with the Brandon Wheat Kings before turning pro in 1960 with the IHL Fort Wayne Komets. He went on to play 813 games in 14 pro seasons in the NHL, WHA, IHL, WHL, EPHL, CPHL and AHL. His NHL career included games with the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins. In the WHA he played with both the Houston Aeros and Chicago Cougars. After his pro career Dunc McCallum returned to Brandon and coached the Wheat Kings who lost the 1979 Memorial Cup to Peterborough. He was named WCHL Coach of the Year in 1977 and WHL Coach of the Year in 1979.
