Kowcinak, Dick

Born in Winnipeg, this left winger played on one of the great lines in junior hockey with Alf Pike and Johnny McCreedy. This trio led the Winnipeg Monarchs to the 1937 Memorial Cup championship. The next season, he was with the Trail Smoke-Eaters who won the Allan Cup and in 1939 Trail captured the World hockey title. Dick Kowcinak played on another Allan Cup winner in 1940 with the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils. He finished his hockey career in the International League where he won scoring titles in 1948 and 1950.
