Born in Winnipeg, this centreman played in the MJHL with the St. Boniface Canadiens, the 1953 Memorial Cup finalists. The following season he was a member of St. Catherines Teepees who won the Memorial Cup and in 1955-56 he was with the WHL champions and Edinborough Cup winners, the Winnipeg Warriors. Cec Hoekstra played on the AHL Calder Cup champion Cleveland Barons in 1963-64 and also on the USHL Allan Cup winners Galt Hornets in 1971. He played a total of 959 games in a 16-year pro career and recorded 234 goals, 359 assists and 593 points.
