Born in Winnipeg, this left winger was a member of the 1942 Memorial Cup champion Portage la Prairie Terriers. He had 2 NHL seasons with the New York Rangers. In 12 AHL seasons with Hersey Bears, New Haven Eagles, Springfield Indians, Syracuse Warriors, and Providence Reds, he played 627 games, scored 251 goals, 302 assists, 553 points and was a Second Team All-Star in 1951. Bill Gooden also had stints in the USHL with the Fort Worth Rangers, in the WHL with the Vancouver Canucks and the QHL with the Trois-Rivieres Lions during that 12-year period.
