Dunc Rousseau 1945-2017

DUNCAN (FRANKLIN) ROUSSEAU After a courageous battle with cancer, Duncan peacefully on October 18, 2017 passed away at Riverview Health Center, at the age of 72 years. Duncan will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Danette (Gord), Cameron (Sherri) and Jodine (Jaret); grandchildren, Rochelle (Darren), Justin (Andreanne), Brenna, Alexis, Neeley, Easten, and Kingston; great-grandchildren, Keelin, Kydon and Georgie; sisters, Gwen (Ivan) and Joan; brother Claude; as well as nieces, nephews and close friends. He is predeceased by his wife Georgina; his parents, Lillie and Bill and brother-in-law James Fox. Dunc was born in Bissett, MB, February 10, 1945 leaving home as a teenager in search of every Canadian boys dream of becoming a professional hockey player. His career took him to the MJHL, CPHL, IHL, AHL and two years with the Winnipeg Jets in the WHA. Dunc was honoured and extremely proud to have been recognized as an original Winnipeg Jet at the Heritage Classic in 2016. Upon his retirement from pro hockey, Dunc spent 23 years working for Molson Breweries, Reimer Trucking and Unique Construction where he made many long-lasting friendships. His unwavering and unconditional love for his family and friends is what he will be remembered for most of all. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to family and friends for their prayers and support, to Dr. Banerji, Laurie and Dr. Kim of CancerCare Manitoba and all the staff of Riverview Health Center 3 East for their tireless efforts, kindness and patience during his formidable battle.
