Born in Winnipeg, he played all his minor hockey in his hometown and junior in the MJHL with Winnipeg Black Hawks. He played most of his career in Europe but did manage to return to Canada in 1954-55 with Brandon Wheat Kings, the Western Canada Intermediate champions and in 1963-64 with Winnipeg Maroons, the Allan Cup champions. Mike Daski went back to Europe and coached some 40 years in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Austria winning a total of ten championships. He was also employed by the NHL's Detroit Red Wings as their head scout in Europe.
