Born in Winnipeg. At the time of his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, he had completed 50 years of service to hockey. Dunn was acting as league secretary, convenor and time keeper when his league be came part of the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association in 1927. In 1942 he became MAHA Vice President and three years later he began a six-year tenure as CAHA Vice-President and then President. Nevertheless, he retained his interest in Manitoba hockey, acting as convenor of international tournaments in 1967 and 1968 and as Secretary-Treasurer of the Manitoba Hockey Players Foundation Inc.
