Pike, Alf

Born in Winnipeg, Pike centred the top line of the Winnipeg Monarchs with Johnny McCreedy and Dick Kowcinak. This line led the Monarchs to the 1937 Memorial Cup championship. He moved up to the New York Rangers in 1939-40 and was part of their Stanley Cup winning team. After six NHL seasons he went into coaching and piloted Guelph to the 1952 Memorial Cup crown. In 1956 he coached the Winnipeg Warriors to the WHL title and the Edinburgh Trophy. Alf Pike also coached the New York Rangers in 1960 & 1961.
