Born in Winnipeg, this right winger was AHL Rookie of the Year in 1950-51. He played junior with the Winnipeg Rangers and the Brandon Elks. In 6 NHL seasons with the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks, he played 351 games, scored 114 goals, 85 assists, for 199 points. In 1953 he was 4th in scoring behind Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay and Rocket Richard. Wally Hergesheimer scored 2 goals in the 1953 NHL All-Star game to beat Mon treal 3-1.
