Born in Winnipeg, this right winger played one season of junior with the Winnipeg Rangers before going east to Oshawa where he led the Generals to the 1944 Memorial Cup championship. His career spanned 9 NHL seasons with Toronto Maple Leafs and included three consecutive 3 Stanley Cups in 1947-48-49. He played 368 NHL games, scored 79 goals 105 assist, for 184 points. He retired in 1955 after stints with Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers and then began a long and successful golf career.
