Born in Winnipeg, this centreman was a leader for all teams he played for. He turned down major league offers in hockey and baseball for education and business reasons. He was runner-up for Manitoba's "Athlete of the Century". At 17 he was with the Brandon Wheat Kings Juniors Western finalists. He was Rookie of the Year for Streatham, English League champs; a member of Winnipeg Maroons, the 1964 Allan Cup Champions; was on three European tours with the Maroons and played for Canada at the 1965 World Championships in Tampere, Finland.
