Born in Selkirk, this right winger played junior with his hometown Fishermen. In 7 NHL seasons he played for Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Eagles and the New York Americans. He won 2 Stanley Cup with Montreal 1930 and 1931. Nick Wasnie played on a line with immortals Howie Morenz and Aurel Joliat and was credited by Joliat as "the first player to use the slap shot".
