Date of Birth: 1957-07-14Born in Winnipeg, this defenceman played his junior hockey with the MJHL Winnipeg Monarchs and the WCHL Winnipeg Clubs. In 1976 and 1977 he set WCHL records for most points for a defenceman and was named to the First All-Star Team and named the league's top defenceman and Player of the Year in 1977. He played 537 games in the NHL with Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers scoring 67 goals, 191 assists for 259 points. Kevin McCarthy was an AHL First Team All-Star with the 1986 Hershey Bears and was part of their 1988 AHL championship team.
