Ledyard, Grant

Date of Birth: 1961-11-19

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Grant played defence in the MJHL with the Fort Garry Blues who were Manitoba champions in 1981-82. He was selected top MJHL defenceman that same season along with being named the Most Valuable Player and was a first team all-star. In 1984 with Tulsa Oilers of the CHL he was awarded the Bob Gassoff trophy as the league's most improved defenceman. Played 18 years in the HNL with nine teams beginning with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles, Washington, Buffalo, Dallas, Vancouver, Boston, Ottawa and Tampa Bay. Played for Team Canada in 1985 and 1986. Retired after the 2002 NHL season with career totals of 1028 games, 90 goals, 276 assists and 366 points.
