Born in Brandon, this defenceman played junior with his hometown Wheat Kings. In 10 NHL seasons with the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals, he played 539 games, scored 19 goals, 94 assists, for 113 points. Gord Lane played on 4 Stanley Cup winners with the Islanders from 1980-83.
